3/17/2020 COVID-19 Update

4/6/2020

Please stay tuned for updates- we place them here to avoid mass emails to clients.
Thank you all for being amazing following the protocols to keep us all safe from COVID-19, Please do not enter the clinic if you are sick or caring for someone sick. We can get your pet from the car and talk over the phone or Facetime. We are limiting one healthy person per visit to the clinic, waiting in the car or outside, keeping our distance, using hand sanitizers and disinfecting throughout the day. We can also mail medications and you can use PENINSULA AVENUE VET CLINIC ONLINE PHARMACY through our website. It is the fastest way to get the medications to you if you do not want to come to the clinic because the order is one step and not involving faxes back and forth.
You may hear in the news about the passing of the 17-year-old Pomeranian dog that was released from quarantine in Hong Kong. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER OF DOGS TRANSMITTING COVID-19 TO PEOPLE. This dog was tested negative twice, never showed signs of illness and no antibodies in the blood. It just happened to have sniffed some from the owner's virus into the nasal passages. It is not uncommon for a dog to die suddenly at that age. Those are fairly advanced geriatric years. Unfortunately, the owner declined necropsy and now the cause of death will be speculated. Given no other dogs in the same situation have exhibited signs of Coronavirus, please help curb any misinformation that may arise
